After participating in the call for proposals of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a German federal company for technical cooperation that operates in Brazil, the German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Rio de Janeiro (AHK Rio), won approval in late 2021 for four projects of great relevance that will be launched in the first half of 2022.
Supported by the German Government, the four agreements have official names. They are Women in Energy, Online Global Trainer, Sustainable Tourism and the Green Recovery.
Check out the specifics of each one below:
Women in Energy
The main goal of the project is to raise awareness of the issue of women in renewable energy occupations and to increase the proportion of female experts in this field. The focus of this project is solar energy.
To this end, the project aims to:
- Develop a website about and for women working in solar energy in Brazil;
- Implement a marketing campaign to raise awareness of the theme and interest of more women in solar energy;
- Creation of a course on solar energy;
- Creation of a mentoring network of women for women, in order to accompany and advise them about their professional lives;
Sustainable Tourism
The Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Bolivia, Ecuador, and Brazil have joined together in support of the economic recovery promoted by sustainable tourism. The qualification programs developed for this purpose individually improve employment opportunities and the quality of employment in the sector. In addition, they create the basis for careful and sustainable use of natural resources in tourism.
The main goal is to develop specific training courses on "Sustainability as a Competitive Advantage," each with its own objectives, for three target groups within the tourism industry.
Each of the AHKs will develop a 12-hour training course, synchronous and asynchronous, with certificates on region-specific topics;
Green Recovery
The course aims to provide an overview of the possibilities of a Post-Covid scenario with Green Recovery, fostered in the European Union's Green Recovery Initiative, as well as to establish sustainable profitability and reporting in companies. To accomplish this, the course will make use of parts of the Inhouse Sustainability Manager (ISM) developed by AHK Mexico, with adaptations in its content to the Brazilian reality.
Among the specific objectives are:
- Develop an online course adapted to the Brazilian scenario, for sustainability managers;
- The course will have weekly asynchronous mentoring sessions, with self-training material, alternating between classes and coaching sessions;
- Application of sustainability concepts in internal projects;
Online Global Trainer
The project aims, in the short term, to support companies and educational institutions to improve the quality of virtual classes by offering the course "Online Trainer (AHK)" in the participating Chambers of Commerce Abroad, in order to face the current crisis scenario.
The long-term objectives are to:
- The development of didactic online competence for experts and managers in interested companies and organizations;
- The quantitative increase and qualitative improvement of learning opportunities in the target countries, with positive effects for students and education, also strengthening the online competence of companies;
- Strengthening communication and cooperation through social media within and between countries;
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rio de Janeiro takes on these projects and challenges, with the commitment and assurance that the results of the projects will have a great impact on issues of global relevance!
